Jay Z Live At New York Public Library | Video

In conjunction with the upcoming release of his memoir, Decoded, Jay-Z spoke as New York Public Library last night alongside Cornel West and NYPL director Paul Holdengräber, as a guest of honor for the Live at NYPL series. The hosts and Jay-Z spoke about the book, and they read passages from the Decoded, but the best part was when Jay-Z shared some stories about his life at the public live series. Jay-Z shared anecdotes from his childhood, about his parents’ impressive collection of records, on convincing Charles Strouse to let him sample Annie for “Hard Knock Life”, on recording “This Can’t Be Life” with Scarface and more. Check out the full video after the jump, and see Jay-Z in a new light, away from his performer persona. via: NYMag/fora.tv
