Primitive, the retail location owned by Paul Rodriguez Jr. has been creating an in-house label of clothing for some time, and while not reinventing the wheel, it has provided a combination of skateboard influenced streetwear that was far from stale. With a strong line up of shirts and hats behind them though – not to mention a collaboration Frogskin with Oakely – the brand is moving up to the next rung of the clothing label ladder – denim. Primitive isn’t going it alone, though, and the denim project is a fully collaborative effort with Bobby Hundreds, who brings considerable streetwear design and production talent to the table. This first round of jeans is a well-whiskered indigo denim, with white stitching, and an Adam Bomb leather patch. The jeans, which are exclusive to Primitive and THLA, THSF, and THNY, are being released at an event this Saturday, at which P-Rod and fellow skateboarders Tory Pudwill and Carlos Zarazua “will be signing anything you want,” as the press release says. Available this Saturday at http://primitiveshoes.com/home.cfm”>Primitive, and at http://thehundreds.com/”>The Hundreds.
