POP Magazine, the “super-glossy” that covers the bleeding edge where fashion and design converge, is devoting a special hardcover GYAKUSOU edition dedicated to the partnership between Nike and Jun Takahashi. POP is arguably the definitive source for creatives who have earned a measure of pop-culture celebrity – think Takashi Murakami, whose Flower imagery features in the magazine’s logo. For the A/W10 issue, the magazine is releasing 200 hardcover copies to coincide with the release of the GYAKUSOU collection. (Freshness trivia: this special issue showed up sitting on a couch in a Paris Running Club feature we ran earlier in the week…) The issue features a special cover, and an exclusive 12-page spread by English fashion photographer Jamie Morgan, covering the Tokyo running sessions done as endurance testing for the collection. As usual, POP presents aesthetically pleasing and accessible design coverage, and for anyone interested in the GYAKUSOU collection, this is great library addition.
