Steinway & Sons x BMW 7 Series Composition

By - November 22nd, 2010

Sleek and polished with the hands that tell a story of a heritage of artisanship and craft, a tale of perseverance and dedication embedded in a fine piano black finish, mirroring the lessons of the past, the liveliness of the present and hope for the future, BMW has handpicked quite an unlikely partner, but a beautiful one at that for a new collaborative BMW Individual 7 Series Composition. The partner in a crime of beauty? The esteemed piano maker, Steinway & Sons.

The new BMW Individual 7 Series Composition takes the luxury automobile favorite in piano black lacquer trim to a who new level, with the intention of nurturing young musicians at both national and international levels as well. The limited edition BMW Individual 7 Series Composition is designed to be deliberately reminiscent of the piano keyboard, in two color variants, black, and of course, ivory. The body paint work for this mode, has been individually smoothed and polished by hand, comparable to the finish in that of piano lacquer. Aside from trimmings, a special audio system has been adapted to the saloon interior, and lambswool carpet, Alcantara headliner, special embroidery makes this custom series a coveted release for those who appreciate artisanship.

The limited edition series, marked with gold pinstripe and Steinway & Sons logo was unveiled on November 11 at the Hamburg factory of Steinway & Sons. For those who are slightly confused at the black exterior, white interior (and vice versa) combo, the color palette is meant to contrast and reflect the keyboard, not match. via: AB

This is an amazing car striped. Now with the partnership with Steinway, it's out of this world. As a piano enthusiast, I wanted to transform my full size van into a riding piano. BMW outdid everything I could have hoped for. It is a thing of beauty. If anyone wants to lend me some money I will go buy this car now.
