We previewed Cody Hudson’s work on behalf of Converse (PRODUCT) RED over the Summer, and now the Chuck Taylor Hi that the Chicago-based artist created is available. Hudson gave the Chuck a kind of Maine Guide meets old leather football vibe: the upper is in natural leather, with un-fussy white stitching, the laces are hiking-style wovens, and the heel gets a healthy-sized pull tab. The artistic and charitable influences are visible too: it gets the singe (PRODUCT) RED eyelet, plus the ankle is embossed with one of Hudson’s organic geometric shapes, along with his stamp on the tongue. Finished with a blue toe cap, a slightly-distressed off-white midsole, and a red All Star heel tab. When visual artists design shoes, the results can be contrived and awkward, but Cody Hudson does it like a footwear design pro. Check out the images after the jump. Available now at Haven.
