Here’s a look into the Spring 2011 California Collection from Vans, with two colors of the Switchback model. For Spring 11, Vans is dropping the hiking-inspired shoe in two appropriate versions: black suede and brown suede. Both have the Official Hiking Boot Symbol of a padded ankle cuff; Vans does it in a classy pebbled leather, and lines with white contrast stitching. Interesting note, for any students of the sneaker: Vans has been re-working the balance between Hiking boot and Vans shoe on the Switchback: the first versions of the shoe had two speedlacing hooks, and exposed stitching between the last and the upper; now the Switchback has all traditional eyelet lacing, and a traditional Vans vulc sole. The balance still works; maybe it’s even a bit better for not trying so hard. The artsy photo is above; check out detail shots after the jump. via: FNG.
