With the passing of Senator Edward “Ted” Kennedy earlier this year, it truly marked the end of so-called Camelot Era. However, the aspirations set by Edward, along with his brothers Robert and John, live well beyond. And as a new slew of Congressional freshmen hurry along the vaulted halls of the Capitol Building next month, their acumen will echo those by the “First Family of Massachusetts”. To reflect such legacy, Frank Rivera (or better known as Frank The Butcher) of CONCEPTS set to work on a pair of New Balance 999s in honor of John F. Kennedy. Inspired by his love of the sea and his time as a lieutenant of PT-Boat during World War II, the CNCPTS x New Balance 999 is steep in nautical traditions, with its rip-stop nylon, the battleship grey paneling to accents in red, white, and blue. The leisure of New England sailing shines through as well, in hints of suede and twist-laces like those on sails rigging. Finally, a sea worthy logo with CNCPTS in navy signal flag motifs. Packaging includes a nifty mesh bag, the CONCEPTS x New Balance 999 will be available in March 2011. via: SF

if you were ripping off a nautica jacket then yes this is a decent colorway... but don't try to create a story around the Kennedys, something you know nothing about.
