As Mr. Bathing Ape is heading well into its second year of inception, Japanese retailer, http://united-arrows.co.jp”>United Arrows, and http://bape.com”>BAPE expanded upon their sweet, smart and dandy collaboration and brings in more friends to help outfit the urban gent for Spring/Summer 2011. Aside from a continued partnership with heritage shoe company, Regal, (check out the mustached penny loafers!) the duo have also roped in luxury textile factory, http://dormeuil.com/”>Dormeuil, for a series of American and British styled suits.
Even though the collaborators do seem prepped and, well, regal, BAPE’s measured sense of playfulness and cheek shines through in a repetitive use of the mustache motif, which has found its way onto checked ties in forms of embroidery, penny loafers, and more. In terms of illustrator, the duo has tapped into the talents of Hozumi Kazuo who had not only created graphics for t-shirts, but also for this season’s visuals and advertising.
More on the accessories front, there is also a collaborative iPad case created with Globe-Trotter. via: http://fashionsnap.com/news/2010-12-13/mr-bathing-ape-ua-2011ss/”>FS
