Exhibition Of WONDERWALL Archives 01 10 Project Models

In the current state of economy, for retailers, it is one thing to survive. It is an entirely different thing, however, to thrive and maintain a relevancy in the industry. For these selected few, there is a common trait they shared – architect Masamichi Katayama (片山正通) and his firm WONDERWALL. Arguably one of the best architect in the world for interior design, especially those of retail spaces. Katayama’s talent of transforming a common space into something of an experience “that happened” to have merchandise for sale is only second to Apple‘s communal space, the Apple Store. So as the decade drew to a close, WONDERWALL is looking back at all the major projects it worked on, from 2001 to 2010, with an exhibition of its miniature diorama and models. Hand crafted entirely by skilled artisans, the model themselves cost on an average of six-figures and beyond in price point. Yet, the ability for clients to have something in 3-dimensional form is priceless. The exhibit is currently taking place in the city of Fukuoka before traveling to Nagoya next year. The models on display are:

– A.P.C. DAIKANYAMA HOMME
– BAPEXCLUSIVE AOYAMA
– colette
– NIKE HARAJUKU
– NOWHERE (BUSY WORK SHOP HARAJUKU
– PASS THE BATON MARUNOUCHI –
– PIERRE HERME PARIS Aoyama
– UNIQLO SoHo New York
