While it promotes the familiar silhouettes from its Onitsuka Tiger label and its GEL-Lyte III edition to markets oversea, the design team for ASICS‘ Japanese domestic market is churning out several notable designs such as the GEL-YETI INDY Boots. On tried and true lug outsoles found on most hiking boots, the GEL-YETI INDY Boots expand on the Japanese traditional footwear known as Tabi, hence, a shapeless upper made in suede. Lacing is done through a series of quick lace loops around the boots’ key points, but all the wearer has to do is to pull the quicklace tab on the heel and they’re set to go. Available in moss green or natural, the ASICS GEL-YETI INDY Boots are available at select dealers in Japan, such as nano universe and its online store on ZOZOTOWN shopping network.
