Nike SB Dunk High Statue of Liberty
The list of Dunk SB’s inspired by iconic spots is a long one, filled with many sought-after successes. Here’s one based on one of the most classic symbols of America ever – the Statue of Liberty. This Dunk is more than skin-deep aesthetics, as it incorporates a layer of green, meant to eventually rub off with wear, which emulates the green oxidation covering the Statue. Shoes like this always present a conundrum to the sneakerheads – a group that typically prizes the deadstock over the worn-in. Some are going to distress these shoes down to the copper, and some are going to be applying the sealant halfway through. Either way, it’s a great start to the Dunk Pro series – Nike’s first upgrade to the Dunk SB technology in quite some time. Coming to select SB accounts nest month. Check out an additional image of the Statue of Liberty Dunk (as featured in our coverage of the Dunk Pro series), as well as a refresher on the tech upgrades the shoe incorporates. via: NSB.org.

The design of shoes has varied enormously through time and from culture to culture, with appearance originally being tied to function.
