Winning isn’t merely a noun, it is verb embed with actions and sacrifices. It is an archetype built upon four pillars To Know, To Originate, To Battle, and To Elevate, 4 mottos that Kobe Bryant understands all too well. To honor the man, his legacy thus far, and his yet to come accomplishments, Nike Sportswear is set to launch the K.O.B.E. (Know, Originate, Battle, Elevate) Collection in Spring 2011. And one of the collection’s first designs made available to the consuming public is the K.O.B.E. Destroyer Jacket. Filled with symbolism from the 4 pillars, the jacket is a reflection. To Know is the learning curve Bryant embarked upon as a professional basketball player. To Originate, in the shape of Ace of Spade emblem signify his high school basketball team, the Aces of Lower Merion High School in Philadelphia. Of course, To Battle is the perfect reflection of Bryant’s inclination to overachieve, in the form of bold letterings on the left leather sleeve. Finally, To Elevate, a tricolor crest on the right sleeve in Green, Black, Red, figuratively the flag of Italy, Bryant’s birthplace. But more importantly, his Afro-American root. On the back is a large XXIV (24) in leather for Bryant’s jersey number. Black Melton wool body with contrast white sleeve in premium leather, the jacket is lined with Nike Sphere insulation to wick away excess moisture as well as keeping out the cold.
