Just a little over one or two decade ago, sportswear thrived on a simpler landscape, with a streamlined ecosystem where products are designed simply for sports. But, things evolved and sneakers crept off the courts and onto the streets, and lifestyle sneakers blossomed, and subsequently, cross-pollinations like hybrids and collaborations happened. Then, last summer, adidas Originals decided to hit up a new nicheâ€”the tech lifestyle segmentâ€”with an introduction of the MEGA line-up on the stateside.
For those in the know, MEGA is a collection of footwear which amped up two of adidas’s most iconic technologies, the Torison and Softcell, for the streets. These iconic elements have been blown up (literally and figuratively) into contemporary designs that now thrive evolved in sneakers.
The new range of MEGA includes eight models with both hi-top and lo-top numbers, and are also introduced for women and children for the first time this season. In preparation for the big push in March, adidas Originals have released a series of teaser images that shows the key details that make the kicks. Some colorways and models are available in stores currently, while another portion will be launched next month, so stay tuned for more to come.
