Verizon Wireless might want to change the tagline on this advertisement soon. The Cult of Apple strikes fast and hard in the pre-dawn hours yesterday as Verizon Wireless opened the pre-order option to existing customers for the Verizon iPhone 4. In a 2-hour time frame, between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., Verizon cleared out its inventory of the phone. Dan Mead, the CEO of Verizon Wireless, remarked as “…an incredible success story…”. Though the telecom giant would not give specific numbers, Mead said “In just our first two hours, we had already sold more phones than any first day launch in our history.” Other retail outlets are ramping up their operations too as the phone is set to be available to the general consuming public starting next Thursday, February 10th. Doors will open early at Apple Store, Verizon Wireless stores, select Wal-Mart and Best Buy locations throughout the U.S. Behold the power of the fruit.
