The http://asicsamerica.com/”>ASICS GEL Lyte III is pretty much the embodiment of early 1990’s non-Nike sneaker design at it’s height, and the shoe has proven staying power; the collaborations have been many (http://freshnessmag.com/2010/10/08/slam-jam-x-asics-gel-lyte-iii-available-now/”>Slam Jam with a white/blue/red color fade, http://nicekicks.com/”>Nice Kicks x http://ronniefieg.com” target=”_blank”>Ronnie Fieg with a slew of collaborative editions, and of course http://mita-sneakers.co.jp” target=”_blank”>mita sneakers has put a stamp on some wild colorways – including http://freshnessmag.com/2009/08/25/asics-x-mita-sneakers-kirimomi-project-gel-lyte-speed-tropical/”>this wild Kirimoni Project edition). That’s just the short list of the most recent editions of the GEL Lyte III. Now, add to that an upcoming pack with White, Yellow, or Green leather uppers, with the fluorescent highlighter colors set off by a plain white/black midsole. These are quintessential 1990’s, and unlike some other recent reissues of the GEL Lyte III, these wouldn’t look out of place at a Foot Locker circa 1992.
