Nike x Dr Romanelli 2011 All Star Collection

Nike pulled out all of the stops this past weekend to celebrate one of the biggest NBA All-Star Weekend’s in recent memory, the sports giant dominated the basketball court on Sunday night with a majority of the players wearing either the Swoosh or Jumpman logo on their shoes despited Adidas being the official sponsor, the brand also debuted a new Nike Basketball Kobe Bryant “Black Mamba” film, and hosted a number of parties and events including the Los Fearless event. In addition to all of that the brand also collaborated with Los Angeles’ very own Dr Romanelli on a limited run of Backpacks, Toes, and Shoebags that all contained production imagery of the film, “The Black Mamba”, that happened to be directed by acclaimed director, Robert Rodriguez and featuring cameo appearance from Danny Trejo, Bruce Willis, and Kanye West. Nike digitized the storyboards from the film on a luxury satin lining that was used on the interior of every bag while the outside components were created using both new and vintage Nike apparel, including some pieces that were deadstock dating all the way back to the 1970’s that were a part of the Nike Orange label. Accompanied in every bag was a pair of the limited edition Nike Zoom Kobe VI basketball shoes. If you’re looking to pick up one of these bags you might have to look long and hard as only a select number of VIP’s were given a bag throughout the course of the weekend. via: DRx
