Stussy – Spring 2011 Collection Lookbook | By RJ Shaughnessy

By - February 23rd, 2011

Often lost in the realm of dueling definitions, youth is neither judged by appearance, mindset, or the degree of vivacity. Rather, youth is a peculiar mix of moments and memories, each framed beautifully in photos by RJ Shaughnessy. A graduate of the prestigious Art Center College of Pasadena, the LA-base photographer’s in-the-moment style transcribed perfectly the spontaneity of youth. Plus, an ideal platform for Stussy to present its Spring 2011 Collection. With the sense of time lost in Shaughnessy’s black and white format, the documentary stills tell the story of a gang at play donned in Stussy’s latest designs. While subtle clues hint the recentness of the photos, they instill a feel of ageless as if they were done 3 decades ago.  See the collection, in full and in person, at all Stussy Chapters this Friday, February 25th, as the label embarks on its 31st year.  In the meantime, stay tuned for collaboration projects from Daniel Clowes and Cody Hudson on a later date.
