Playboy x Supreme Spring/Summer 2011 Collection
Fans can count on a few interesting capsule collaborations from Supreme every year; following the Popeye collection comes this season’s partnership with Playboy. The capsule, which included a classy melton wool jacket and button down shirts, released this week; the reception was lukewarm, and most of the attention was paid to the other items released alongside the Playboy items, namely two new 5 panel camp caps.
UNDFTD Spring 2011 Collection
The Spring/Summer collection from the in-house label of West Coast retailer Undefeated dropped this week. Overall, very solidly aimed at UNDFTD’s core consumer – it speaks to the strongest current trends in streetwear, and also incorporates the athletic influences that define UNDFTD as a brand.
Jeff Staple is something of a senior statesmen of the young art and design world at this point, and as such, he conducted this video interview with Scott Campbell – the tattoo artist who is quickly becoming one of the most noteworthy young artists on the scene. Campbell discusses his recent work, and talks candidly about his childhood, academic life and the concepts behind his designs.
Studio B.I.B 500 Black Markers
Allister Lee has a collection of 523 black markers – which earns him a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for the world’s largest collection. What makes this relevant to us is that Lee is behind Studio B.I.B., a boutique branding and design firm whose past clients include a number of streetwear staples, including Nike, Stussy, Staple, Supreme, MHI and Mishka. The marker collection has inspired Lee to create a limited run of posters, featuring 500 of his markers, which is available at Studio B.I.Boutique, The Reed Space and Equal Dist.
