Sneaker Con NYC 03-19-2011 | Event Recap

By - March 21st, 2011

Sneaker heads of all ages converged in New York City once again for the annual Sneaker Con. Early Spring weather welcomed the eager attendees as the they lined up along Sullivan Street behind barricades, made more than one onlookers wondered if a riot was in the process. But if the long queue outside was any indication, the event is simply not slowly down. In the matter of an hour, the queue took over Sullivan Street, wrapped around Houston, and extended into Thompson Street. Once inside, the venue proved to be worth the wait as more than 2,000 sneaker heads bought, sold or traded their hottest and rarest kicks. Support came from various locations in the East and West Coast but some even flew from Europe to participate. Notable attendees included DJ Clark Kent, R E E (Sn’eads), All Day from ATF, designer Ronnie Fieg and Nick Hogan, amongst others. And for those who missed the NYC event, Sneaker Con will be making its way to Washington DC on April, 2nd. Thanks to images by Insider Images
