It’s an interesting time for China and art – the most famous contemporary Chinese artist, Ai Weiwei, along with his wife and eight employees, has been essentially kidnapped and is being held in secrecy by the government. China is also making a huge global play to overhaul the nation’s presence on the established art scene, with the opening of the remodeled National Museum in Tiananmen Square – a renovation that took a decade and cost $400 million dollars. Carmaker smart and customizer Brabus feature another prominent Chinese artist, Fang Lijun, in a new commercial spot for the smart Brabus Fortwo 2-seater, that has none other than Kobe Bryant careening through the streets of L.A. to rescue a stolen painting. It’s a fun video that highlights the advantages of a car that is so short. Check out the video after the jump.
