As the publishing date of the late David Foster Wallace’s last book draws near, we are reminded the creative brilliance of talented individuals, who often and tragically ended their lives too early, like that of designer Alexander McQueen. Similar to Wallace’s publisher, Little Brown & Co., PUMA picked up its collaboration with McQueen where the designer left off after his 2010 suicide. The challenges were 2-fold, how do you finish incomplete design without damaging the ethos of McQueen? The same can be say about Hussein Chalayan‘s collaboration as well. Fortunately for all parties involved, PUMA was able to perform a delicate dance where both appeal to the masses and the desirability to select few resonant in both collaboration collections. Scheduled to launch early this Fall as part of PUMA’s Fall 2011 Collection.
