Just over a week ago, Oakley opened their Times Square location here in New York, but not to be outdone, Oakley London reopened its door with a grand celebration to showcase their newly redesigned digs. As a brand that always takes design to another level of seriousness, Oakley delivered on that with creation and installation of a couple of interesting pieces: a 12-foot tall, 800 pound angel sculpture, which is suspended from the ceiling above the main desk; and the highlight – a giant chandelier comprised of 4,000 Oakley Frogskins sunglasses. This fashion forward chandelier, which resides on the second level in middle of the stairway, does not stop with its unique composition, it also dazzles the eye with a nice array of changing colors. In addition to the ocular delights, guests were invited to take part in Oakley’s Custom Lab experience by customizing pieces and enjoying the option of being able to laser engrave lenses via the aid of an onsite etching machine. The event certainly had it all in a visual and product sense, and if you are in the UK, it is definitely worth the visit.
