Often referred to as skateboarding's bible, Thrasher Magazine turned the big 3-0 this year and to ring in the occasion, a series of exhibitions have been planned to commemorate the milestone. Celebrating in grand style, the skateboarding publication teamed up with the Love & Guts art show and Oakley (both will be presenting all shows) to present a look back at photos encompassing the past 3 decades of Thrasher's existence. The initial event took place at the Art Now Gallery in San Francisco this past Friday. Attendees were treated to a look back in time via carefully curated photos that were set up chronologically throughout the gallery space. The exhibition was largely comprised of photos, but Thrasher artists, Neckface and Robert Williams, also contributed some paintings, with Neckface also providing a metal mask sculpture. Be on the lookout for upcoming shows, which also includes New York, Washington DC, and Southern California.
