The stigma of Friday the 13th was proven otherwise for 84 sneakerheads this morning as they were the lucky few who purchased the strictly limited Reebok Kamikaze by hip-hop artist Swizz Beatz. Take into account the involvements of Swizz Beatz, whose on board from the start not as a mere collaborator but a creative director instead, many anticipated the fervor the launch will create. However no one knew the extend of it till about an hour ago. With all 7 retail locations’ total tally in, Reebok stated all 84 pairs sold in an average of less than 10 minutes, making the collaboration one of the most successful project in Reebok Classics and Reebok‘s histories. If you missed the opportunities to purchase a pair this morning, Reebok and Swizz Beatz will launch another set of Kamikazes, this time in grey/green and black/white/orange, on June 10th. Look for them at key retailers in NYC, Boston, Philly, DC, Baltimore, Atlanta, Miami, Houston, Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, LA and San Francisco. More detailed information to come at a later date.
