Nike SB x Geoff McFetridge x MOCA Paper Dunk High Auctions

The ‘Art in the Streets’ exhibit going on right now at the MOCA in LA features a murderer’s row of veteran street artists, with all of the biggest names in street art and graffiti putting up their works for the show. Given the the theme of the show, it is only appropriate that there be an element that personifies the longstanding ties between the world of street art and sneakers. That element is the Paper Dunk project, a collaboration between Nike SB, MOCA, and artist Geoff McFetridge that resulted in 24 unique pairs of SB Dunks bearing the art work of Geoff McFetridge. Each of these pairs is hand made, and each one appropriates a different piece of artwork in a cut and paste way which results in the seemingly abstract grey/beige designs on the uppers. Each pair also comes with an “art card”, a print of the specific piece that birthed the graphics on that particular shoe. Only 24 pairs of this very special SB Dunk were made, 20 of which are being auctioned off right now on ebay as a fundraiser for MOCA. Continue reading for more photos of this pair in the Nike SB x Geoff McFetridge x MOCA collection, and then hit up ebay to have a look at the rest of the pairs up for auction.

Ok..I'm thinking that they could have done better advertisement for these sneakers to help these artist out. B.E.T. could have TWEETED this or put it on they're news with a interview with the artist..SO could MTV..I went on Ebay and don't think the auction is being well supported. People need to support these artist who are out they're trying to make good things happem for themselve. With the connects Nike have, I'm pretty sure they could have pulled some strings to do a short online comercial or something to help advertise these better..#ImJustSaying
