A few miles from where he and 2 friends started a hip-hop gig known as Run-D.M.C., the “Original King of Queens”, Darryl Matthews McDaniels, visited his old stamping ground over the weekend for a meet-and-greet event at Queens Center Mall. Hosted by the adidas store, the legendary artist autographed specially printed t-shirts, memorabilia, and the one item most associated with Run-D.M.C., the adidas Originals Superstar. Over onto the career side of D.M.C., he added that the finishing touches on his upcoming album are in place. With a set date of release sometimes in 2012, McDaniels added that numerous artists/friends have came to work with him on this, including Mick Mars from Mötley Crüe, Travis Barker, Sebastian Bach, Freddie Fox, Chuck D, Johnny Juice and Pauley Perrette from NCIS. It certainly has the making of a hip-hop classic.
