In the last few weeks, we worked up a sweat looking for that enigmatic Nike Sportswear Ice Cream Truck throughout the Big Apple. Finally, blessed relief came this afternoon in the form of Boulevard Ice by Nike Basketball. Part cooling center, part shaved ice shop, part retail store, but all basketball, the Nike Basketball Boulevard Ice Pop-Up Store is where you get “baptize” in the culture of summer time in New York City. Enter the large commercial refrigerator door and you’re hit not only with a chilled breeze but tingling sensations to all your senses – the rowdy gathering of neighborhood kids, the swirling snow cone from Corona’s Lemon Ice King, fragments of Dyckman Park hardware, murals of past street ball legends and current champions. All the while you have the opportunity to customize your very own Nike Basketball wears. This temporary retail space will also serve as a flagship where special editions of Hyperfuse 2011, Hyperdunk 2011, and the likes of Nike Air Force 1 White NYC Borough Pack will make their debut. Nike Boulevard Ice store will open Tuesday to Sunday of every week, from 11 am to 7 pm.
