Orphiro Electric Motorcycle

No need to lube up this engine. Despite its retro cruiser appearance, this motorcycle from the Netherlands’ Orphiro start-up housed an array of high-tech lithium ion batteries with a total of 72 volts. Yes, this “hog” runs on clean, quiet electricity instead. But discount it as another hipster’s toy thingamajig, this baby has a top speed of 75 mph, quite respectable for a electric motorcycle. The ability to cover 60 miles with a single charge, this fun ride is sure to make stressful commute a thing of the past. The Orphiro Electric Motorcycle is slated for launch this September. via: inhabitat

Well I think the Orphiro- electric motorcycle is probably an alternative to the petrol run machines we have at the moment but I'm unsure whether it will be the way of the future. I have to say it's not the best looking cruiser I've seen and I'm sure with today's technology we can do better than design an electric bike that is only capable of 60 miles before having to be charged., till I guess it's a start. I think in general this is a sound idea especially for commuting, it would be good to see more people on bikes regardless of what kind they are. Interesting. Sean

i want one, but it would be nice if they included sideview mirrors too. i'd pay an extra 10 bux for those.
