While there is much to say about Adi Dassler, founder of adidas, and Jake Burton Carpenter, who established his eponymous snowboard label Burton, as individuals. One thing need not be say is the entrepreneur spirit instill within each. Because of circumstances and needs, both men set out to address them, only to create paradigm shifts decades later. In celebration of these conjoint feats from 2 different eras, Burton and adidas Originals will once again introduce their collaborative collection for Fall/Winter 2011. In all, there will be a total of 25 apparel designs, coincide with 8 footwear models, each characterized aspects of active lifestyle Burton and adidas Originals promote with their unique design themes in plaid, wood print, and camouflage.
One new aspect to the Fall/Winter 2011 Collection will be the inclusion of Kazuki Kuraishi. A designer who propagated Tokyo’s street styles of Tokyo to the world via his own 2009 – 2011 adidas Originals by Originals, Kazuki is no stranger to Burton and snowboarding – an avid snowboarder who worked on Burton’s AK Line for a number of years.
The collection is set for launch starting October 2011 with prices ranging $100 to $200 for footwear and $40 to $450 for apparel. More information on availability to come soon. In the meantime, here is a preview on 3 of the designs from the collaboration.
