With actress Susan Sarandon, members of Gotham Girls Roller Derby, professional from Central Park Dance Skaters Association and other notable guests on site, Japanese retail giant UNIQLO opened its HIGH LINE RINK this morning. A temporary recreational space designed by architecture firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the HIGH LINE RINK situates on the western edge of West 30th Street in New York City. Right within The Lot, a public space set aside for special programs, food carts, and a beer garden, the HIGH LINE RINK welcomes all starting now till September 26th. Aside from the activities available on site, UNIQLO is providing a unique shopping experience via the UNIQLO Cubes. The 2 glowing pop-up store with a limited array of UNIQLO apparels, with seasonal rotations of premium ultra light down jacket, UT graphic tees, Heattech inner wear, cashmere sweaters in various colors, all at the most accessible price.
There will be a $12 admission fee for adult and a $10 fee for children under the age of 13. Children under the age of 13 must be in the company of an adult, though admission fee will be waived. All admission fees include the option of rental roller-skates for free. For the commencement of this most unique public space, UNIQLO will welcome the first 500 visitors TODAY and TOMORROW with FREE admissions. Stay tune for more details as the opening day approaches.
