CONVERSE First String Standards Dr. J Pro Leather

Sporting a towering fro, Dr. J would throw down the multi-colored ball of the ABA through the hoop, dazzling fans and mystifying opponents with his above-the-rim acrobatics. He was showtime basketball before showtime existed. CONVERSE is paying homage to the hardcourt legend with the launch of the Converse First String Standards Dr. J Pro Leather, the shoe Dr. J wore while he made basketball history. Originally launched in 1976 and built with premium leather construction, the Converse Pro Leather will be available in a classic white and navy colorway, featuring CONVERSE’s signature Star Chevron logo stitched on the side. Limited to just 168 pairs, they’ll be sold through CONVERSE First String retailers starting this Friday, August 5th, with retail set at $90.

Release Date: August 5th, 2011 (Friday)

The back of the shoe is not accurately depicted; it should be navy with the converse logo. I know, because I wore them, and never jumped higher.
