Google to Build Headquarters in Mountain View

While http://google.com/” target=”_blank”>Google may be a leader in business and technology, the company wants to lead in sustainability as well. Preparing to build their new headquarters in Mountain View, California, they’ve hired the award-winning German architecture firm http://ingenhovenarchitects.com/” target=”_blank”>Ingenhoven Architects. Their first project in the U.S., Ingenhoven was given a specific and direct mandate from their newest client: build the greenest, most sustainable building possible. It’s likely Google has found the right match with the German firm, as Ingenhoven maintains a world-class reputation for sustainable design, having won numerous environmental awards for buildings like the Main Station in Stuttgart, Germany, a train terminal that is zero-energy, meaning it’s a carbon free structure that requires no heating, cooling or any sort of mechanized ventilation. Construction on the new Google headquarters is scheduled to begin in 2012. via: http://archdaily.com/157521/google-to-build-headquarters-in-mountain-view/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+ArchDaily+%28ArchDaily%29″ target=”_blank”>ArchDaily
