PUMA creative director Hussein Chalayan has debuted looks from his Fall/Winter 2011 Urban Mobility collection. Chalayan’s primary inspiration is motion — it’s the driving principle that ensures each of his pieces is informed by both fashion and performance, something that’s clearly evident in the new assortment. The theme for fall 2011 is movement captured by cameras, resulting in garments with linear angles and geometric overlays. The idea is perhaps best captured by the Urban Swift, a shoe based on the iconic PUMA Clyde but refashioned with injected molded TPU treatments on the quarter and side panel to create the appearance of speed and movement.
