There is palatable tension in the air and its neither the hazy summer sky nor the raising humidity.  In actuality, its the venue currently underway at Shanghai Stadium Sport Complex – the first ever Nike Festival of Sports. With thousands of employees and local volunteers hasten final preparations, Freshness gets an early look before the opening ceremony this evening and general admission tomorrow morning.  Considered to be the most comprehensive sporting event in China since the 2008 Summer Olympic in Beijing, the Nike Festival of Sports is the embodiment of tenet set by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman, “If you have a body, you are an athlete”.  In this celebration of athletes and athleticism across the board, spectator are asked to participate in a number of venues, each sponsored by divisions like Nike Soccer, Nike Running, Nike Women, Nike Tennis, and even Nike Mixed Martial Arts.  And for those not wanting to break a sweat, they can become audience members to see star athletes like  , Amare Stoudemire, Kyrie Irving, along with players from both Duke and Georgetown Universities, and local U19, U22, U25 basketball teams in action various moments of the day.  In addition, Paul Rodriguez and Nike SB teammates Eric Koston, Shane O’NeillOmar Salazar and Theotis Beasley will demo their skill sets on the make shift skate park.  Needless to mention, these are just a fraction of activities to be taken place starting tomorrow and ends this Sunday.
