Every year GQ conducts its search for the Best New Designers in America, and this year the menswear monthly partnered with Dockers on a project in which each of the nominated designers crafted a pair of khakis and a top for a special Dockers collection. One of the runners-up was Warriors of Radness, the beach culture inspired label founded by Rick Klotz that features the bright colors and laid back vibe of ’80s and ’90s surf style. For its collaboration with Dockers, the brand took a pair of relaxed-fit pleated khakis (we weren’t kidding about the ’80s influence) and equipped it with a side Velcro closure and gathered elastic hems, giving the design a bit of a sweatpant silhouette. In terms of tops, the label went with a simple logo tee and a pullover cotton windbreaker in a rich orange hue. The collection is available now at select Bloomingdale’s stores and Bloomingdales.com.
