If a model of shoe can be viewed as a blank canvas, then Nike has taken the Air Royal Mid and churned out works in a surprisingly large number of different genres. We’ve seen the sneaker in patent leather, Harris Tweed, and seamless leather constructed with Vac-Tech. It’s been given a workboot makeover and also had its customary sole replaced with a rugged outdoor variation to form an outdoor boot hybrid. In its latest incarnation, the shoe comes in a rich suede upper and the sort of crepe sole we typically identify with desert boots. They’re scheduled to hit stores on October 8th, 2011. Check out both colorways after the jump.
