This year’s entrants in the Dakar Rally, the world’s premier off-road race, will traverse three countries — Argentina, Chile and Peru — and cover more than 9,ooo km in 14 days. They’ll start the race on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and cross the finish line at the Pacific. The Excite Rallye Raid Team, the first professional British Dakar team, will enter three vehicle built by RaBe Race Cars, and if they look familiar it’s because the body is borrowed from the new Range Rover Evoque. Power, meanwhile, will be supplied by a BMW 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six diesel engine delivering 275 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque; expertise by RaBe Race Cars’ 15 years of experience in desert racing.
