Sprint Bets $20 Billion On Apple iPhone 5

Just hours away from the purported launch of iPhone 5 from Apple, Wall Street Journal dug up an interesting bit of information. In putting itself in the same playing field with the 2 largest wireless service providers, AT&T and Verizon Wireless, Sprint placed an order of 30 million iPhone 5 with Apple to the tune of some $20 billion dollars. For the current #3 service provider in the U.S., that is quite similar to betting the farm, the home, the corporate headquarter… heck, just about the whole company. Even if the newest generation of iPhone becomes a hot seller (and no doubt it will be), another certainty is that Sprint will not profit from the deal till the year 2014. So how about it, T-Mobile? via: WSJ
