Air Jordan III Oregon Pitt Crew Edition

By - October 14th, 2011

Among the benefits of the University of Oregon‘s longstanding relationship with Nike are numerous financial endowments from Nike cofounder and former CEO Phil Knight. An Oregon alum, Knight has also supplied his alma mater with uniforms and equipment and used the school’s athletes to test prototype materials, a tradition that dates back to Oregon track coach Bill Bowerman having his athletes run in Nike shoes. And finally, an additional perk is Tinker Hatfield, yet another UO grad, designing a special Oregon edition of the Air Jordan III inspired by the Pit Crew, Matt Arena’s version of Duke’s Cameron Crazies. Just 500 pairs were created, with 10 being raffled off at the Matt Knight Madness event on October 14th. The remaining pairs will presumably be given away through similar contests throughout the season. Check out more images following the jump. via: Sneaker News
