Since its opening earlier this year the CONVERSE Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn has lived up to its promise as a supporter of unsigned bands and musicians by making its state of the art recording facilities available to them at no cost. On October 19th the studio hosted the first night of its HELLO BROOKLYN project, a series of special events celebrating independent music. The evening featured live performances by MNDR and Aabaraki, a funk/R&B outfit that was among the inaugural group of bands to break in the Rubber Tracks studio. Additional highlights included DJ sets by Tennessee Thomas, Saheer Umar and Sleigh Bells vocalist Alexis Krauss. Some of the noted attendees were Marky Ramone, models Arlenis Sosa and Matt Hitt, actress Liz Lee and the band Bosco Del Ray.
