In recent years TV has elevated itself beyond a medium that once spoon-fed cookie-cutter programming that appealed only to the lowest common denominator. Previously television neither challenged nor truly entertained; rather, it lulled viewers into a complacent stupor, too apathetic to demand more. That all changed when real storytellers decided to scrap formulaic pabulum for multi-dimensional characters who dared to evince moral ambiguity. Shows like The Sopranos, The Wire and Breaking Bad raised the bar. This wasn't mere TV -- this was art, with a capital "A." And it began with the granddaddy of them all, MTV's Beavis and Butt-head. Stussy is celebrating the return of this landmark television program with a capsule collection of tees and sweatshirts, featuring the anti-hero duo trading in their AC/DC and Metallica tees for fresh Stussy gear. Other inhabitants from their suburban wasteland -- Winger super-fan Stewart Stevenson, hirsute teacher David Van Driessen and embattled principal McVicker -- also make an appearance in the collection.
The Stussy x Beavis and Butt-head capsule is scheduled to release at Stussy chapter stores and online on November 14th. The first 20 purchasers in-store at any of the U.S. Stussy chapters will receive a complimentary Stussy x Beavis and Butt-head poster. Additionally, fans will have the chance to win a poster hand-signed by show creator Mike Judge. Go to Stussy's Facebook page for details, and make sure to catch the show at 10 pm ET/PT Thursdays on MTV. Check out additional looks after the click.
