In raising awareness to the plight of AIDS in the continent of Africa, Product (RED), along with CONVERSE, will launch the exclusive CONVERSE (Product) RED Chuck Taylor All Star on this World AIDS Day, December 1st. Participating in this year’s project will be José ParlÃ¡, renowned for his abstract depiction of urban landscape and street culture. With the use of high-tech laser printing methodology, CONVERSE and the label’s creative director of special projects, Ian Ginoza, reanimated ParlÃ¡’s “Ephemeral Pitches, and Notes, Rhythm and Phonetics” print onto pairs of CONVERSE Chuck Taylor All Star. Because of its exclusive technique, the representation on the sneakers are identical to ParlÃ¡’s original painting. And to finalize and complete this “work of art”, a repetitive pattern of the artist’s signatures are on the sneakers’ insoles as well as the heel stripes.
With every purchase of the José ParlÃ¡ x CONVERSE (Product) RED Chuck Taylor All Star, a percentage will go to the Join (RED)’s effort in Africa. As José ParlÃ¡ stated, “Life brings you surprises and the best surprise would be that one-day the cure for AIDS is found.
