Nike has released the Air Max Light VNTG QS in OG red and blue colorsways, featuring a vintage treatment highlighted by heavily yellowed midsoles and faded coloring on the suede mudguard and Swoosh. Even the outsole appears weathered and well-trod. Originally released in 1989, the successor to the Air Max 1 bears similarities to the original (it was commonly referred to as the Air Max 2), with a visible Max Air unit, nylon mesh and suede overlays. Though it never caught on like its more high-profile Air Max brethren, Nike is breathing new life to the original version of the shoe, albeit in a fashion that makes it seem as if it were recovered from a late ’80s time capsule. The Nike Air Max Light VNTG QS is available now through Nike quickstrike retailers like Sneakersnstuff.
