German company BRAUN may be best known for a long history of making high quality electronic goods – but the company has also been a aesthetic inspiration to some of the most influential post-War designers around – including none other than Undercover’s Jun Takahashi, who took a radio designed for BRAUN, by Dieter Rams, as the inspiration for his breakout SS2010 Men’s collection. Braun has aged quite well; since it’s founding in 1921, the company has grown to become one of the biggest players in consumer goods, but a devotion to intelligent design has remained a key tenet of company culture. Precisely the ethos behind a new line of sport watches which BRAUN is releasing in January 2012, which includes the Mod 111. The watch ties into the popularity of silicon-banded simple watches, but brings a decidedly more Teutonic level of engineering, and is definitely not a toy – although it is available in some bright hues. The Mod 111 is water resistant and lightweight, and there is a color for any outfit. The watch will be available soon from Gessato; check out all of the colors after the jump.
