Skate fans from around the New York City area packed into the Vans DMQ General in SoHo on December 1st to check out the opening of the Pave the Way skate photo exhibit, which was presented by Vans. Die-hard skate fans got up close with the work of iconic skate photographers C.R. Stecyk, Tobin Yelland, Lance Dawes and Mofo in the 2,600 square foot skateboarding store that just opened a couple months earlier in September 2011, owned by none other than former Vans pro-skater Chris Keeffe.
Dawes, Yelland and Mofo have been behind the scenes capturing street skating from coast to coast from the beginning–before the endorsements and cash prizes. Stecyk further defined the rugged style and attitude of skateboarding with his work for Skateboard Magazine and Powell Paralta beginning in the 1970’s.
Exhibition Dates: Now – January 4th, 2012
