The notion that one’s mobile phone is as much fashion accessory as indispensable gadget is reinforced with the newest collaborative handset from LG and Prada. The Prada Phone by LG 3.0 is highlighted by its elegant, understated design, featuring a black case with discreet Prado logo up top and adorned with the brand’s signature Saffiano pattern at the back. The minimalist aesthetic is maintained with just a handful of physical buttons running underneath the fairly large 4.3-inch NOVA display with 800 x 480 WVGA touchscreen. While the phone’s looks will undoubtedly be the primary selling point, the technology on hand is respectable: it’s built on a dual-core processor with 8 GB of internal memory and runs the Android OS on a Gingerbread interface (which is customized with unique menus and icons in neutral shades of black, grey and white). Finally, there’s an 8 megapixel autofocus camera with HD 1080p capability. The phone is expected to land first in Europe and South Korea.
