Jeremy Fish and Upper Playground have partnered to bring a new meaning to interactive exhibition. Fish recently opened his latest solo exhibition Listen and Learn at Joshua Liner Gallery in New York City. Thirty paintings were created and exhibited based on stories told by Fish’s closest friends and inspirational individuals. Every artwork was paired with a set of headphones which enabled the viewer to listen to the audio recording that told the story behind the piece. The audio gathered contains voices of Snoop Dogg, Aesop Rock, Mike Giant, Lance Mountain, El-P, Ron English and Ricky Powell just to name a few.
In order to fully appreciate the exhibition outside of the gallery environment, a special ‘Listen and Learn’ app was produced, accompanied by 30 images of the paintings. To launch the custom app, Upper Playground is giving away a brand new iPad 2. Fish customized it with an illustration drawn directly onto the back of the device using only a black Sharpie marker. Head over to the Upper Playground Facebook Page right now to enter the competition and leave your email on the lower left of the page before Saturday, December 31st, 2011.
