LIVESTRONG Celebrates 15 Years Strong

On October 2nd, 1996, professional cyclist Lance Armstrong was diagnosed with advanced testicular cancer. On January 8th, 1997, he started the Lance Armstrong Foundation to provide support and hope for the millions of people around the world affected by cancer. By 1999 Lance was already back on his bike, and starting from that year to 2005, he won the Tour de France a record seven times. Nike has been a longtime supporter of Lance Armstrong and his foundation, now known as Livestrong. It’s a partnership highlighted by a full line of workout gear, and of course the yellow Livestrong bracelet launched in 2004. Today, the mission remains the same: to inspire and empower. On the fifteenth anniversary of the Livestrong foundation, Nike presents 15 ways to Livestrong. Check out the list after the click.

1. Support LIVESTRONG by purchasing a wristband for $1.
In 2004, Nike launched the LIVESTRONG yellow wristband to help raise awareness and funds for LIVESTRONG. 2. Wear the LIVESTRONG Collection.
