Audi fans here in the states who have had to look on enviously while the majority of Audi RS models released exclusively to Europe have the imminent release of the 2012 Audi RS 5 Coupe to look forward to. The star athlete of A5 family, the RS5 features eight cylinders underneath the hood — something you won’t find in the rest of the A4/A5/S5 range. The 4.2-liter V8 produces 450 horsepower with 317 lb-ft of torque, and mated to the standard seven-speed S tronic gearbox, enables the RS 5 to sprint from 0 to 100km/h (62 mph) in 4.6 seconds. In terms of styling, the front end gets smaller xenon headlights and a refashioned single-frame grille, while out back there’s a redesigned bumper and new detailing around the taillights. It’s a modified update that gives the car a refreshed look to the match its impressive muscle. Click through for a new Audi ad for the 2013 RS 5, as well as close-up looks in the gallery below.
