After receiving warm reception in the US, Levi’s will be touring the Levi’s Commuter concept in Japan. Levi’s partnered with BEAMS and Tokyo’s premiere BMX/fixed gear bicycle store W-Base to launch the Commuter collection. The launch party will be held at gallery COMMON in Shibuya where there will be a display of photos from ex-messenger turned photographer, Miyuki ‘Pai’ Hirai. Also on display will be a custom made Commuter bike from renowned Japanese frame builder, Cherubim.
To give the attendees a feel of the cycling culture, gold spring event is also planned where contestants can race each other on a head-to-head sprint race. Pre-orders of the Commuter collection can be made at Levi’s Stores (Shibuya, Nagoya, Kobe, and Harajuku), BEAMS stores (Harajuku, Umeda, and Fukuoka), and W-Base store in Tokyo. Watch the Levi’s Commuter trailer video after the jump to get a behind the scenes look into the photo shoot and collection.
